Learning Disabilities

We provide a range of accessible services for people with learning disabilities across Swansea, Neath Port Talbot and Carmarthenshire. Support services can be accessed on a two to one basis, 24 hours a day, or as little as half an hour per week dependent on their needs and wants.

The services we provide are client-led, placing a strong emphasis on choice and control for the people who access them.

Some of our services are based in shared supported housing accommodation supporting people who may simply find it difficult at present to live alone in their community, to those with very high needs.

People directed support

We work closely with people to identify a support plan based on talents and abilities, rather than focussing on difficulties and limitations. The individual plan is developed with a person’s support worker, family and friends, with further support from statutory or charitable agencies, including educational and day facilities.

Our services are specific to individual needs and can be flexibly changed at short notice. They can be commissioned by local authorities, carers and clients directly. Support can also be utilised for every day needs, respite or holidays.

We are keen to develop excellent services that are easily accessible and flexible, making them person centred and enabling people to have choice and control in their lives.

Innovative services

We also offer our innovative domiciliary service ‘Doorways’ as part of a series of services for people with learning disabilities. In 2013 we built a range of purpose built facilities for people returning to the Abertawe Bro Morgannwg area from geographically remote areas, to be nearer family and friends.

Our purpose built facilities provide the latest designs and include the most recent developments in assistive technologies which provide excellent environments to maximise people’s full potential.
